How to maintain and service the Road Roller

Aug 12, 2024

I. Daily maintenance
1. Cleaning
After each operation, the surface of the Road Roller and the dirt and debris on the roller should be cleaned in time. You can use a high-pressure water gun to rinse, but be careful to avoid water entering the electrical system and the engine compartment.
Regularly clean the dust and debris in the engine radiator, air filter and other parts to ensure the heat dissipation and air intake effect of the engine.
Clean the instrument panel, seat, joystick and other parts in the cab to maintain a good working environment.
2. Inspection
Before work every day, check whether the appearance of the Road Roller is damaged or deformed. If any problems are found, they should be repaired in time.
Check the air pressure and wear of the tires or tracks to ensure that they are in normal condition. For tire-type Road Rollers, check the tread depth of the tires. If the wear is serious, replace the tires in time. For track-type Road Rollers, check whether the tension of the tracks is appropriate and whether there are any breaks or wear.
Check whether the oil level of the hydraulic system is normal. If it is insufficient, add it in time. At the same time, pay attention to check the quality of hydraulic oil. If it is found to be deteriorated or contaminated, it should be replaced in time.
Check whether the wires and cables of the electrical system are damaged or short-circuited. If there is any problem, it should be repaired or replaced in time. Check whether the electrical equipment such as lights, instruments, and horns are working properly. If there is any fault, it should be eliminated in time.
2. Regular maintenance
1. Engine maintenance
Regularly replace the engine oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, etc. according to the requirements of the engine manual.
Check the engine's cooling system to ensure that the coolant is sufficient, the radiator is clean, and the fan is running normally.
Check the engine's fuel system to ensure that the fuel supply is normal, the fuel injector is clean, and there is no leakage in the fuel line.
Regularly check the engine's valve clearance, spark plugs and other components to ensure that they are in normal condition.
2. Hydraulic system maintenance
Regularly replace the hydraulic oil and hydraulic oil filter. Under normal circumstances, the hydraulic oil should be replaced every 500 hours, and the hydraulic oil filter should be replaced every 250 hours.
Check whether there is leakage in the pipelines and joints of the hydraulic system. If there is leakage, it should be repaired in time.
Check the working condition of hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, hydraulic cylinders and other components. If there is any abnormality, repair it in time.
3. Vibration system maintenance
Check the wear of vibration bearings, vibration shafts and other components. If there is any wear, replace it in time.
Check the working condition of vibration motors, vibration pumps and other components. If there is any abnormality, repair it in time.
Regularly add lubricating oil to the lubrication points of the vibration system to ensure its normal operation.
4. Travel system maintenance
Check the wear of walking chains, track plates and other components. If there is any wear, replace it in time.
Check the working condition of walking reducers, walking motors and other components. If there is any abnormality, repair it in time.
Regularly add lubricating oil to the lubrication points of the walking system to ensure its normal operation.
3. Storage precautions
If the Road Roller is not used for a long time, it should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place to avoid direct sunlight and rain.
Before storage, the Road Roller should be thoroughly cleaned and maintained, and the fuel and lubricating oil should be drained to prevent corrosion and damage.
The Road Roller can be covered to prevent dust and debris from entering.
Check the stored Road Roller regularly and deal with any problems in time.
