How to prevent roller oil from turning black?

Sep 26, 2025

I. Oil Selection and Replacement
1. Use High-Quality Oil
Hydraulic oil/engine oil must meet API CH-4 or higher standards, with fully synthetic oil preferred (for greater oxidation resistance).
Diesel rollers should use low-sulfur fuel (sulfur content ≤ 0.05%) to reduce sludge formation.
2. Strictly Follow Oil Change Schedules
Mineral oil should be changed every 250 hours or three months, while fully synthetic oil can be extended to 500 hours.
Drain the old oil thoroughly during oil changes and replace the oil filter at the same time.
II. Key Equipment Maintenance Points
1. Air and Fuel Systems
Clean or replace the air filter every 100 hours to prevent dust from mixing into the engine oil.
Check the fuel filter regularly to prevent contamination from inferior fuel.
2. Cooling and Sealing
Maintain the coolant level at a normal level to prevent engine overheating (high temperatures accelerate oxidation). Check the crankcase ventilation valve and hydraulic system seals to prevent moisture and impurities from entering.

III. Operating and Storage Standards

1. Proper Operating Habits

Avoid prolonged overload operation to minimize damage to the oil caused by high-temperature conditions.

Accessories such as the hammer should be lubricated regularly to prevent metal debris from contaminating the hydraulic oil.

2. Oil Storage Management

Store new oil in a cool, dark place. After opening, seal it tightly (wax seal is recommended).

Parts removed during maintenance should be cleaned with diesel fuel to prevent impurities from entering the oil lines.

IV. Professional Inspection and Prevention

Test the oil's acid value and flash point every 500 hours (≥180°C is normal).

Install a magnetic drain plug on the hydraulic system to absorb metal particles.
