What are the operating specifications of the single drum roller compactor?

Nov 20, 2024

1. Preparation before operation
Inspect the equipment: Carefully check the appearance of the single drum roller compactor to ensure that all parts are firmly connected, without looseness, damage or missing. In particular, check the key parts such as the steel wheel, vibration system, travel system, and braking system. Check whether the liquid levels of engine oil, coolant, fuel, etc. are normal to ensure that the equipment will not malfunction due to the lack of these important liquids during operation.
Check whether the air pressure of the tire (if any) meets the requirements to ensure that the tire can provide stable support and good driving performance during operation. Check whether the various indicator lights and instruments on the dashboard are working properly so as to understand the operating status of the equipment in a timely manner.
Familiar with the site: Before operating the single drum roller compactor, the operator should be familiar with the terrain, landforms and surrounding environment of the construction site. Understand the obstacles, underground pipelines, etc. in the site to avoid collisions or damage to underground facilities during operation.
Determine the compaction requirements and compaction sequence of the construction area and formulate a reasonable construction plan.
Safety protection: The operator should wear personal protective equipment such as safety helmets, work clothes, and safety shoes to ensure their own safety.
Check whether the safety devices of the single drum roller compactor, such as brakes, handbrakes, guardrails, etc., are intact to ensure the safety of the equipment during operation.
2. During operation
Starting and preheating: Start the engine of the single drum roller compactor according to the correct starting procedure. After starting, let the engine idle for a period of time to preheat so that the engine and hydraulic system reach normal operating temperature. During the preheating process, observe the various indicators and instruments on the dashboard to ensure that the equipment is operating normally.
Driving operation: When operating the single drum roller compactor, start slowly and avoid sudden acceleration and sudden braking. According to the conditions of the construction site, select a suitable driving speed. Generally, the driving speed during compaction operations should not be too fast. During driving, pay attention to the surrounding environment to avoid collisions with other equipment or personnel. At the same time, keep the single drum roller compactor running smoothly to avoid bumps and shaking.
Compacting operation: When performing compaction operations, appropriate compaction parameters such as vibration frequency, amplitude, driving speed, etc. should be selected according to the type, thickness and compaction requirements of the compacted material.
During the compaction process, keep the steel wheel in good contact with the compacted material to avoid leakage or over-compression. Different compaction methods and sequences should be used for different compaction areas to ensure uniform compaction. Pay attention to the compaction effect. If insufficient or excessive compaction is found, the compaction parameters should be adjusted in time.
Steering operation: When operating the single drum roller compactor to turn, the steering wheel should be turned slowly to avoid sharp turns. During the steering process, pay attention to the surrounding environment to avoid collisions with other equipment or personnel. For different steering methods, such as front-wheel steering and all-wheel steering, the appropriate steering method should be selected according to the actual situation to ensure safe operation.
Braking operation: During the operation, the brake and handbrake should be used in time as needed to ensure the safety of the equipment. When braking, the brake pedal should be pressed slowly to avoid sudden braking and causing the equipment to lose control. When parking, the single drum roller compactor should be parked on a stable ground and the handbrake should be pulled up to prevent the equipment from sliding.
3. Post-operation processing
Shutdown and cleaning: After completing the compaction operation, turn off the engine of the single drum roller compactor according to the correct shutdown procedure. After shutdown, let the engine idle for a while to allow the engine and hydraulic system to gradually cool down. Clean the steel wheels, fuselage and cab of the single drum roller compactor, remove the attached dirt, dust and other debris, and keep the equipment clean.
Inspection and maintenance: Perform a comprehensive inspection of the single drum roller compactor, including the wear, tightness, and lubrication of each component. If there is a problem, it should be repaired or replaced in time. Perform regular maintenance on the equipment, such as replacing lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, filters, etc., to ensure the performance and life of the equipment.
Safe storage: If the single drum roller compactor needs to be stored for a long time, it should be stored in a dry, ventilated and safe place. Park the equipment on a flat ground and pull the handbrake to prevent the equipment from sliding. Cover the equipment to prevent sun, rain and dust erosion. At the same time, the stored equipment should be inspected and maintained regularly to ensure that the equipment can operate normally when needed.
Strictly complying with the operating specifications of the single drum roller compactor is the key to ensuring safe and efficient construction and extending the life of the equipment.
