1. Strictly control load and speed. The working load should be controlled within 80% of the rated value. Avoid full load or overload operation to prevent accelerated wear of newly assembled parts due to excessive impact.
It is recommended to reduce the travel and vibration operation speed by about 30%. Operation should be smooth, and sudden acceleration, sharp turns, or emergency braking are prohibited to reduce thermal shock to the transmission and hydraulic systems.
2. Ensure sufficient break-in time. The break-in period is usually no less than 100 hours, and can be extended to 150 hours for heavy-duty or high-load models.
After the break-in period, a comprehensive inspection and maintenance must be carried out, including changing the lubricating oil, cleaning the filter, and tightening key bolts, to ensure that all systems enter a stable operating state.
3. Strengthen lubrication and oil management. After every 8 hours of operation, apply grease to key parts such as the articulated pins and vibratory wheel bearings.
Every 100 hours, take a sample to test the hydraulic oil quality, observing for emulsification and darkening. If necessary, send it for testing for contamination and viscosity. 4. Clean or replace the air filter every 50 hours to prevent dust from entering the engine and causing abnormal cylinder wear.
5. Use suitable lubricating oil. During the initial break-in period, a low-viscosity, high-cleaning lubricating oil is recommended to help flush away metal shavings and quickly form a protective oil film.
After the break-in period, switch to a normal operating oil to avoid insufficient lubrication due to prolonged use of low-viscosity oil.
6. Establish a separate equipment health record. It is recommended to establish a dedicated maintenance record for the road roller after a major overhaul, recording information such as the repair unit, a list of replaced parts, the date of the first oil change, daily operating hours, and any abnormal phenomena.
The record can be stored electronically for future maintenance decisions and as a reference for used equipment valuation.
