I. Preparation
1. Determine the lubrication parts:
First, it is necessary to identify the parts of the Plate Compactor that need to be lubricated. Usually, they include the engine crankcase, transmission system (such as belts, chains, etc.), the movable joints of the operating handle, and the connection between the tamping plate and the fuselage.
You can refer to the instruction manual of the Plate Compactor, which generally clearly marks the location and lubrication requirements of each lubrication point.
2. Choose the right lubricant:
Choose the right lubricant according to the different lubrication parts. For example, the engine crankcase generally uses a specific type of oil; the transmission chain can use chain lubricant; and grease can be used at the movable joints.
Make sure that the selected lubricant is of reliable quality and meets the requirements of the equipment. You can consult the equipment manufacturer or professional maintenance personnel to determine the best type of lubricant.
3. Prepare lubrication tools:
Prepare the corresponding lubrication tools, such as oil pots, brushes, oilers, etc. Different tools may be required for accurate lubrication operations for different lubricants and lubrication parts.
Make sure that the lubrication tools are clean to avoid bringing impurities into the lubrication parts and affecting the performance of the equipment.
2. Engine crankcase lubrication
1. Check the oil level:
Before lubricating the engine crankcase, check the oil level first. Usually, after the engine stops running and cools down for a period of time, pull out the oil dipstick, wipe it clean and then insert it, then pull it out to observe whether the oil level is within the normal range.
If the oil level is too low, you need to add an appropriate amount of oil. But be careful not to add too much to avoid engine failure.
2. Change the oil:
Replace the engine oil regularly according to the requirements of the equipment instruction manual. Generally speaking, after a certain working time or mileage, the oil will gradually deteriorate and lose its lubricating properties, and it needs to be replaced in time.
First, drain the old oil. You can find the oil drain bolt at the bottom of the engine, open the bolt to let the old oil flow out. During the discharge process, be careful to prevent the oil from splashing on your body or polluting the environment.
After draining the old oil, tighten the drain bolt, and then add new oil from the oil filling port on the top of the engine. Fill according to the oil capacity specified in the manual, not too much or too little.
3. Transmission system lubrication
1. Belt drive lubrication:
For belt-driven Plate Compactors, check the tension and wear of the belt regularly. If the belt is too loose or severely worn, it needs to be adjusted or replaced in time.
A small amount of belt wax or special belt lubricant can be applied to the surface of the belt to reduce belt wear and friction and extend the service life of the belt.
2. Chain drive lubrication:
Check the tension and lubrication of the chain. If the chain is too loose, it will affect the transmission efficiency; if the chain lacks lubrication, it will aggravate wear.
Use chain lubricant to spray the oil evenly on each link of the chain. You can use an oiler or a brush to apply it to ensure that every part of the chain is fully lubricated.
When applying chain lubricant, be careful to avoid dripping oil on the ground to avoid environmental pollution. At the same time, do not use too much lubricant to avoid absorbing dust and debris and affecting the normal operation of the chain.
4. Lubrication of the movable joint of the operating handle
1. Check the movable joint:
Check whether the movable joint of the operating handle is flexible and whether there is any jamming or looseness. If a problem is found, it may be due to lack of lubrication or severe wear at the joint.
2. Apply grease:
Use grease and apply it to the friction parts of the movable joint. You can use a brush or fingers to evenly apply the grease to the joint surface to ensure sufficient lubrication.
After applying the grease, move the operating handle to fully distribute the grease inside the joint to improve the lubrication effect.
V. Lubrication of the connection between the tamping plate and the fuselage
1. Check the connection:
Check whether the connection between the tamping plate and the fuselage is firm, loose or worn. If the connection is not firm, it will affect the working stability and compaction effect of the Plate Compactor.
2. Add lubricating oil:
A small amount of lubricating oil can be dripped into the bolts and nuts of the connection to reduce friction and wear. At the same time, make sure that the bolts and nuts are tightened to prevent loosening during work.
For some connection parts with movable joints, grease can be used for lubrication to improve the flexibility and durability of the connection parts.
VI. Precautions
1. Safety first:
When performing lubrication operations, make sure that the Plate Compactor is in the shutdown state, and unplug the power plug or turn off the engine to prevent accidents.
Avoid contact with high-temperature parts such as the engine exhaust pipe during lubrication to avoid burns.
2. Keep clean:
Before lubrication operations, make sure that the lubrication parts are clean and free of dust, debris, etc. You can use a clean cloth to wipe the lubrication parts to improve the lubrication effect.
When filling lubricating oil, be careful to avoid spilling oil on other parts of the equipment to avoid contamination.
3. Follow the instructions:
Strictly follow the requirements of the equipment manual for lubrication operations, and do not use different types of lubricating oil or overfill lubricating oil at will.
If you have any questions about lubrication operations, you can consult the equipment manufacturer or professional maintenance personnel.
