1. The cylinder head process hole end cover is leaking

The process hole end cover on the Cummins engine cylinder head equipped with a certain type of vibratory roller is thin and leaks after corrosion. After the end cover leaked during the operation of the road roller, it was difficult to purchase and process it for a while. The following emergency repair methods can be adopted: If the leakage hole in the end cover is small, wood screws can be wrapped with raw tape and screwed in; if the leakage hole in the end cover is large, part of the coolant in the engine block can be released (Just below the leakage site), clean the end cover, prepare an iron piece larger than the leak hole, use AB glue to stick the iron piece to the end cover, wait until the AB glue hardens, then add coolant Can. After purchasing or processing the end cap, replace it with a new one.

2. The steering cylinder guide sleeve is damaged and leaks oil.

The sealing ring groove on the outer circle of the steering cylinder guide sleeve of a certain type of vibratory roller was bruised. After repairing it with AB glue, oil leaked from the bruised area within a short time. When purchasing a new guide sleeve, the manufacturer does not have parts. Purchasing a new steering cylinder is costly and time-consuming, and processing a new guide sleeve is difficult. For this reason, we adopted the following emergency repair method: remove the steering cylinder guide sleeve, and re-machine a sealing ring groove of the same size 5mm away from the lower part of the original sealing ring groove. After installing the sealing ring, the guide sleeve leaked oil. disappear.

3. Rubber water pipe leaks

During the use and repair of road rollers, it is often encountered that the rubber water pipes of the engine cooling system are partially damaged and leaking due to aging and other reasons. If you want to replace the original specifications of the rubber water pipe, you need to purchase it from the accessories manufacturer. For this reason, we adopt the following emergency repair methods: drain the engine coolant, clean the surface of the rubber water pipe, and tightly wrap the leaking area with multiple layers of electrical waterproof tape to solve the leakage problem with good results.

4. Worn journal sealing surface

After long-term friction between the journals of the engine crankshaft, transmission input shaft and output shaft and the lip of the oil seal of the frame, grooves will be worn out on the surface of the journal at the contact point with the lip of the oil seal. This groove will cause oil leakage, and oil leakage will occur again after a short period of use after replacing the new skeleton oil seal. If the surfacing welding method is used to repair the grooves caused by grinding the journal, not only will the workload be large and the cost high, but it will also easily cause deformation of the shaft. For this reason, we adopt the following emergency repair method: put a 3mm thick washer on the bottom of the mounting hole of the skeleton oil seal. After installing the skeleton oil seal, move its lip outward 3mm to stagger the ground groove, which can solve this problem. Oil leakage problem.

5. The bearing axial clearance becomes larger

After a road roller is used for a long time, the parts where the bearings are installed, such as the transmission and rear wheels, the inner and outer rings of the bearings, and the rolling elements will all wear out, causing the axial clearance of the bearings to increase. If the gap is not adjusted in time, it will cause damage to the bearings and related parts, and even cause mechanical accidents. For this reason, we adopt the following emergency repair method: roll a suitable iron wire into an iron wire ring with a suitable diameter, and place it in a place where the axial clearance can be eliminated (such as the thrust area between the shaft and the bearing or the bearing outer ring seat hole), and place it in the The bearing axial clearance is adjusted to the allowable size.

6. Wear of flat keys and keyways

Most of the shafts and wheels used in road rollers use flat keys and keyways for positioning and transmitting torque. The flat key and keyway will wear out after long-term use. After the flat key and keyway are worn, it is usually necessary to replace the new key, and the journal and wheel hole need to be re-machined with the keyway. This will take a longer processing period and it will be difficult to meet the matching requirements after processing. To this end, we adopt the following emergency repair method: first perform surfacing welding on one side of the stress-bearing surface of the worn flat key, and then trim the surfacing welded flat key to the appropriate size based on the trimmed journal keyway and wheel hole keyway dimensions. .

7. The shaft retaining ring is damaged or broken

Shaft retaining rings may be damaged or even broken during disassembly, use and repair. If the shaft retaining ring of the same size cannot be found at the construction site, the following emergency methods can be adopted: Use iron wire of appropriate diameter to tighten the groove of the shaft retaining ring so that the roller can continue to work. After purchasing a suitable shaft retaining ring, replace it with a new one in time.

8. Homemade wire pins instead of cotter pins

Cotter pin holes are provided at the ends of some pins and bolts of the road roller for installing cotter pins to prevent the pins and bolts from loosening. The steering cylinder pin, clutch rod pin, brake rod joint pin, engine foot fixing bolt, etc. are all equipped with such cotter pins. The cotter pin should be replaced with a new one after disassembly. If there is no cotter pin of suitable size, the following emergency measures can be taken: Use wire slightly smaller than the diameter of the pin hole to make a wire pin to replace the cotter pin. After purchasing a suitable new cotter pin, promptly Replace with new parts.

9. The regulator is damaged

Roller engine regulators are used to regulate generator voltage and current. When the generator is not generating electricity, touch the end of the ignition wire of the regulator with the end of the magnetic field wire. If the ammeter shows that the battery is in a charging state, it can be determined that the regulator has been damaged. When the regulator is damaged, the current generated by the generator cannot charge the battery and other electrical equipment. If you cannot find a new regulator at this time, you can connect the regulator ignition wire end and the magnetic field wire end together to charge the battery. When using this method, the circuit should be turned off for several hours every 4 hours to prevent the battery from losing electrolyte due to overcharging, and a new regulator should be replaced as soon as possible.
