① The direction, sequence and required number of compaction passes should be carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements of the construction process drawings or documents;
② The construction should implement the principle of using light rollers first and then heavy rollers in the rolling process from initial pressure to final pressure; the rolling speed should be carried out in order from low to high; the vibration of the tire driven single wheel should be controlled. The compaction speed of the road roller is usually 2.5~5km/h, which is more suitable;
③ If fine cracks appear during compaction, it means that the mixture is too dry. You can sprinkle water appropriately before pressing; if the mixture is too wet, wait for the water to evaporate before pressing. If necessary, turn the mixture over and let it dry before pressing again. . Because, the compaction effect is best only when the moisture content is optimal. Note that the materials paved on the same day must be crushed on the same day;
④ The road roller cannot be parked on the same section for too long or too much to avoid local depressions, which will affect the surface rolling quality;
⑤ When rolling asphalt pavement with a road roller, attention should be paid to: When using a vibratory roller, attention should be paid to selecting reasonable working parameters: such as static line pressure, frequency, amplitude, rolling speed, etc.;
⑥It should be followed closely by the paver, first rolling without vibration, then rolling with vibration, and finally rolling with a tire roller;
⑦The temperature of the asphalt concrete material should be strictly controlled. The time for starting rolling after paving should not be later than 15 minutes, and it must be carried out at the specified rolling temperature (generally 110~90℃). If it is lower than 75℃, compaction will be carried out. The effect is not great; In addition, when using a road roller, you should also pay attention to other aspects:
①The road roller should accelerate or decelerate as slowly and smoothly as possible
② The vibration should be stopped when changing directions while driving with vibration;
③ The wheel surface should be coated with special emulsifier or sprinkled with water to prevent asphalt from sticking to the wheel;
④ When rolling longitudinal joints, overlapping layers of 200mm rolled padding can be laid.
