The following six skills should be mastered in the construction of road rollers in order to achieve a multiplier effect with half the effort.
Tip 1: The choice of compaction machinery should be light and then heavy. In the beginning, the soil is soft, and if the tonnage of the roller is too heavy, the soil will accumulate, the thickness will be uneven, and the compaction degree will not be guaranteed. Therefore, first, use a light road roller to compact the soil evenly, and then use a heavy road roller to roll to the required degree of compaction after the subgrade soil has a certain strength. If it is a vibratory roller, the first pass should be static pressure, and then from weak vibration to strong vibration.
Tip 2: The compaction speed should be slow first and then fast. The rolling speed of the road roller should be gradually accelerated with the increase of the number of rolling passes, that is, the rolling speed should be carried out at a lower speed during the initial pressing, which can prolong the action time of the rolling pressure, increase the influence depth, accelerate the soil deformation, and avoid The phenomenon that the rolling wheel is crowded will prevent the occurrence of abnormal situations such as the road roller trapping.
As the number of rolling passes increases, the compactness of the paving layer also increases rapidly. Speeding up the rolling speed is conducive to improving the flatness of the surface layer of the paving layer and improving the operating efficiency of the road roller.
Tip 3: The straight line segment and the big curved road segment without superelevation should be edged first and then the center. The road roller rolls gradually from the outside of the subgrade, along the extension direction of the subgrade, to the centerline of the subgrade to form a road arch and facilitate drainage.
