1. Efficiency of hydraulic system
Viscosity is too high: If the viscosity of hydraulic oil is too high, it will increase the resistance of the system, resulting in increased power loss, increased oil suction resistance of the hydraulic pump, and easy to produce cavitation and noise. This will reduce the efficiency of the hydraulic system, increase the oil temperature, and thus affect the normal operation of the Road Roller.
Viscosity is too low: If the viscosity is too low, it will increase the internal and external leakage of the hydraulic system, resulting in unstable working pressure of the hydraulic system, poor lubrication effect, and reduced working efficiency of the oil pump. This will not only reduce the compaction effect of the Road Roller, but also may cause increased wear of hydraulic components.
2. Lubrication effect
Appropriate hydraulic oil viscosity can provide good lubrication effect and reduce friction and wear between hydraulic components. If the viscosity is too low, the strength of the lubricating film is insufficient, and the hydraulic components cannot be effectively protected, resulting in increased wear.
3. Life of hydraulic components
Improper hydraulic oil viscosity will accelerate the aging and damage of hydraulic components. For example, too high viscosity will cause the hydraulic components to expand due to overheating, destroy the normal matching clearance of relatively moving parts, and make the hydraulic valve easy to get stuck. If the viscosity is too low, the sealing performance of the hydraulic components will decrease, resulting in increased leakage.
4. Working temperature
The viscosity of the hydraulic oil changes with temperature, and the viscosity decreases when the temperature rises. If the viscosity of the hydraulic oil is not selected properly, the oil temperature of the hydraulic system may be too high, further reducing the viscosity of the hydraulic oil, forming a vicious circle. This will not only affect the performance of the Road Roller, but also shorten the service life of the hydraulic oil.
5. Starting performance
In a low temperature environment, the high viscosity of the hydraulic oil will make it difficult to start the hydraulic pump, and may even cause the oil supply to be interrupted during low temperature startup, causing equipment failure. Therefore, low-viscosity hydraulic oil should be selected in winter to ensure that the Road Roller can start smoothly.
6. Hydraulic system leakage
Too low viscosity will increase the leakage of the hydraulic system and cause unstable pressure in the hydraulic system. This will not only affect the compaction effect of the Road Roller, but may also cause the hydraulic system to fail to work properly.
7. Recommendations for the selection of hydraulic oil
Select according to the working environment: when working in a high temperature environment, a high-viscosity hydraulic oil should be selected; when working in a low temperature environment, a low-viscosity hydraulic oil should be selected.
Select according to working pressure: When the working pressure is high, high viscosity hydraulic oil should be selected to reduce leakage.
Select according to movement speed: When the hydraulic system moves at a high speed, low viscosity hydraulic oil should be selected to reduce power loss.
