How often should the lubricating oil of the Tamping Rammer be changed?

Apr 04, 2025

1. First change
Time of first change: The first lubricating oil should be changed in the first month after the Tamping Rammer is first used or after 20 hours of operation. This is because new equipment will produce more metal debris during the running-in period, and these debris may be mixed into the lubricating oil, affecting the lubrication effect.
2. Regular change
Regular change cycle: After the first change, it is recommended to change the lubricating oil every 3 months or 50 hours of operation. If the equipment is used frequently, the change cycle should be shortened.
Long-term use: For Tamping Rammers that are used for a long time, it is recommended to change the lubricating oil every 6 months or 100 hours of operation.
3. Change in special environment
Harsh environment: If the Tamping Rammer works in a high temperature, high dust or humid environment, the lubricating oil may deteriorate faster. In this case, the change cycle should be shortened, and it is recommended to change the lubricating oil every 2 months or 30 hours of operation.
Light use: If the equipment is used less frequently, even if the above time or hours are not reached, it is recommended to change the lubricating oil at least once a year to ensure the long-term and stable operation of the equipment.
4. Check the lubricant status
Regular inspection: Check the color and condition of the lubricant before each use and during regular maintenance. If the lubricant becomes turbid or has impurities, it should be replaced immediately even if the replacement cycle has not been reached.
Use high-quality lubricants: Choose high-quality lubricants suitable for the equipment to extend the service life of the lubricant and reduce the frequency of replacement.
5. Steps to replace lubricants
Prepare tools: Prepare suitable lubricants and tools, such as wrenches, oil leak pans, etc.
Drain the oil: Start the equipment, let the lubricant heat up, turn off the equipment, and drain the lubricant.
Clean the oil tank: Clean the impurities and residual oil in the oil tank.
Add oil: Add new lubricant and make sure the oil level is within the normal range of the dipstick.
Check: Start the equipment, check for leaks, and ensure that the lubricant flows normally.
