I. Preparation
1. Stop and ensure safety:
Park the Road Roller on a flat, solid ground and turn off the engine. Make sure that the Road Roller is in a stable state and will not move accidentally.
Pull up the handbrake and set the wheel block to prevent the Road Roller from rolling.
Wear personal protective equipment such as a helmet, gloves, goggles, etc.
2. Familiarize yourself with the position of the pressure relief valve:
Before operating the pressure relief valve, determine its position in the hydraulic system of the Road Roller. Usually, the pressure relief valve is located near the hydraulic pump or on the hydraulic control valve group. You can refer to the operating manual of the Road Roller or consult a professional technician to accurately find the pressure relief valve.
II. Operation steps
1. Clean the surrounding area:
Before operating the pressure relief valve, clean up the debris and dust around it and ensure that the operating area is clean and tidy. This can prevent debris from entering the hydraulic system and also facilitate the observation of the status of the pressure relief valve.
2. Slowly open the pressure relief valve:
Use a suitable tool, such as a wrench or pliers, and gently turn the adjusting nut or handle of the pressure relief valve counterclockwise. Be careful to proceed slowly to avoid suddenly opening the pressure relief valve and causing hydraulic oil to spray and injure people.
As the pressure relief valve gradually opens, you will hear the sound of pressure release in the hydraulic system. This may be a hissing sound or a gas flow sound, indicating that hydraulic oil is flowing out of the system.
3. Observe the pressure indication:
Some Road Rollers may be equipped with a hydraulic system pressure indicator. During the process of opening the pressure relief valve, observe the reading of the pressure indicator to determine whether the pressure of the hydraulic system is decreasing.
If there is no pressure indicator, you can judge whether the pressure is released by observing the changes in the hydraulic lines and components. For example, when the pressure is released, the hydraulic line may become soft and the hydraulic cylinder may retract.
4. Completely release the pressure:
Continue to slowly open the pressure relief valve until the pressure is completely released. This may take several minutes, depending on the size and complexity of the hydraulic system.
After the pressure is completely released, the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system will stop flowing and the sound will disappear. At this point, it can be confirmed that the pressure of the hydraulic system has dropped to a safe level.
5. Close the pressure relief valve:
When the maintenance or overhaul of the hydraulic system is completed, the pressure relief valve needs to be closed. Turn the adjusting nut or handle of the pressure relief valve clockwise to gradually close it.
Make sure the pressure relief valve is completely closed to prevent leakage or unstable pressure in the hydraulic system during operation.
III. Precautions
1. Safety first:
When operating the pressure relief valve, always put safety first. Avoid standing in the direction where the hydraulic oil may spray to avoid injury.
If you are not sure how to operate the pressure relief valve, or have any doubts about the safety of the hydraulic system, you should consult a professional technician or contact the after-sales service department of the Road Roller manufacturer.
2. Prevent pollution:
When operating the pressure relief valve, pay attention to prevent the hydraulic oil from polluting the environment. The discharged hydraulic oil can be collected in a suitable container and disposed of in accordance with environmental protection requirements.
Avoid discharging hydraulic oil on the ground or into the water source to avoid pollution of the environment.
3. Follow the operating manual:
Different models of Road Roller may have different hydraulic system designs and operating requirements. Before operating the pressure relief valve, be sure to read the operating manual of the Road Roller carefully and strictly follow the instructions in the manual.
If there are no specific operating instructions for the pressure relief valve in the operating manual, you can consult a professional technician or contact the after-sales service department of the Road Roller manufacturer.
4. Regular inspection and maintenance:
In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the hydraulic system, the pressure relief valve should be inspected and maintained regularly. Check whether the sealing performance, adjustment function and connection parts of the pressure relief valve are normal.
If the pressure relief valve is found to be faulty or damaged, it should be replaced or repaired in time to avoid unstable pressure or leakage in the hydraulic system.
