1. Pre-Operation Preparation
Check that all working mechanisms and fastening components are in good condition. Start the engine and conduct a test run to confirm normal operation. The brakes, steering, and other working mechanisms must be in good condition as required. Adjust the road roller's operating line pressure to the specified value by adding or removing counterweights. However, for initial compaction operations on soft roadbeds, hillsides, or steep terrain, a site survey must be conducted to ensure the safety of operators.
2. Operational Requirements
During operation, the operator must adhere to the specified compaction procedures. During operation, closely monitor the readings of all instruments. Any abnormalities must be promptly inspected and corrected. Operation with a faulty roller is strictly prohibited. The amplitude and frequency of the vibratory roller must be controlled within the specified range. The vibratory roller must stop vibrating before changing direction, slowing down, or stopping. When multiple rollers are operating together, the specified formation and spacing must be maintained, and appropriate communication signals must be established. Turning and reversing the rollers during the compaction section must be smooth. The roller must not change direction while inertially rolling. Operate at the specified rolling speed. Do not arbitrarily change the rolling speed or direction, or stop the machine mid-run. Do not use the differential lock on three-wheeled road rollers under normal circumstances, especially when turning. Do not shift gears or coast while the roller is traveling on a slope. Do not tow or be towed by a road roller, and do not move the roller long distances on its own.
3. Post-Operation Requirements
After operation, the road roller should be parked in a safe, flat area. After each shift, clean all dirt from the entire machine and the roller surface, and perform routine maintenance as specified and scheduled.
